Remote video inspections
Internal video inspections of water facilities performed using a safely
disinfected robotic submarine to produce videos on DVD (and VHS) format.
Operators of the water facilities can leave their tanks and reservoirs in service
and filled with water during the inspection so they can plan for future
maintenance or repairs without interrupting service to their customers.
The inspection can be viewed as it happens in "real time" and no one is required
to enter the tank or reservoir during the video recording. The operator or customer
can assist in directing the inspection if they so desire.
Underground reservoirs often have leaks in the roofs and these can be easily
detected and accurately located using our video system. The leaks can then
be plugged from the top side or however the customer prefers to address
the
problem.
Corrosion problems and coating loss are identified as is the amount and
type of bottom sediment and any staining or growth on the internal surfaces
is also identified.
The person operating the underwater video robot uses extreme caution while
driving the submersible vehicle around the inside of the reservoir or tank and
a "drive path" taking into account piping, roof support columns and other
obstructions is always discussed and approved in advance.
